Vivo claimed in a statement that the genesis of OriginOS centers around three frontiers based on the smartphone consumer demands: design, smoothness, and convenience.” The Vivo OriginOS is the successor and an upgraded version of the FuntouchOS. The design of the OriginOS prioritizes widgets in a grid-like layout.
OriginOS: Design and Features
The new skin is made with a custom feature on the home screen that can be replaced and rearranged by the user according to their preference. These widgets are inspired by a puzzle game called Huarong Road, the Chinese variant of the Klotski sliding block puzzles. Real-World Inspiration in the OriginOS Skin
The widgets also have the ability to show live information and change designs. The most amazing feature of the Vivo OriginOS is the real-world wallpapers. The company has added real-world wallpapers and backgrounds. The company has left no stone unturned in bringing up the latest technology. Or example, the user can choose any background that will show different weather effects, like wind, clouds, rain, etc. Vivo has taken many inspirations from the real world and they did not just stop at the wallpapers and backgrounds but also added the day and night effect to the originOS. In the day and night feature, the screen will be the brightest at midday and dark at night. Along with the weather and the day and light feature, the company has also added a time-lapse wallpaper of a flower blooming. The speed of the timelapse of the blooming flower can be adjusted by the users. The company also claims that the new Vivo OriginOS requires low RAM storage if compared to the resource-intensive FuntouchOS. The OriginOS have a combination of 26 gestures. The company claims that these 26 navigation combinations can be completed by just clicking. For good memory optimization, the Vivo OriginOS comes with a Multi turbo 5.0. Comparing to the previous FuntouchOS, the OriginOS has a faster start-up time. Vivo has not given any information regarding the release date of the OriginOS. But the company did present a mockup of the Vivo OriginOS running on its current X50 flagship phone.
